Magic, applied to data

Data management, turned into a strategic advantage

Excel in, Plex out

Upload and manage Excel sheets against Plex Data Source APIs — and pull data straight back down into Excel when you need to see it in a spreadsheet again.

Bulk Add, Update, Get, Delete

All four operations run as mass actions against a sheet, so a change that would have been hundreds of individual screen edits becomes one upload.

Auto-built templates

Pick a data source and DataMagik builds the spreadsheet template for it — the right columns, in the right order, without you transcribing a field list by hand.

Deeper than the standard columns

Where most Excel tooling stops

Two credential types sit behind DataMagik Desktop, and they reach different parts of Plex. Between them they cover the data that is hardest to move at scale.

Beyond standard data management

A Plex Developer Portal API key — the Consumer Key you generate yourself — lets DataMagik mass-upload Custom Fields, not just the standard columns. That is the data Plex makes hardest to touch in bulk.

Straight to the source APIs

Web service credentials talk directly to Plex Data Source APIs for native reads and writes — no screen scraping and no fragile macros. Add a credential, refresh, and the data sources it is entitled to appear ready to use.

Getting running

Licensed and connected in a few minutes

  1. 1. Activate. Open the menu, choose Product License, enter your key and accept the EULA.
  2. 2. Add credentials. On the Web Service Credentials screen, add a data source credential — your COLO prefix, plus the web service username and password Plex Support issues — and, if you intend to write Custom Fields, a Developer Portal API key.
  3. 3. Refresh. Pull the list of data sources the credential is entitled to. They become selectable immediately, and you refresh again whenever new ones are granted.
