Maintenance, checks and tools

Raise a Plex work request with a photo, see the checks due at a workcenter, and find tools and dies.

Open the Maintenance tile on Home, or Tools + dies for tools. Each tile shows only if your role allows it. Pick your plant on Me first.

Request maintenance

Anyone working the floor can raise a request.

  1. Under What needs work, scan the equipment's asset tag, or type in Equipment name or ID and tap Find, then tap the equipment in the list. Change picks another.
  2. Under What is wrong, describe the problem.
  3. Choose High, Medium or Low, and add a note if needed.
  4. Tap Take a photo to show the problem.
  5. Tap Send request.

The request goes to Plex as a work request raised by you, and the receipt shows the Plex work request number when it is opened, for example Plex opened work request 10423 (High, Open). The photo is saved in DataMagik against the equipment. Without signal, the request waits on the phone and is sent when you reconnect, but the photo is not kept: the receipt says no signal: the photo was not saved.

A request needs your Plex user to be mapped by your Mobile Admin, because Plex records who raised it. If Plex refuses the request, the receipt says why and it appears under Needs a fix on My work.

Checks due

Shows the check sheets and preventive maintenance due at your plant's workcenters, read from Plex, with overdue ones counted in a red banner.

  • Scan a workcenter label, or open Checks due from the Scan tab by scanning one, to see only that workcenter. All workcenters shows them all again.
  • Each check shows its workcenter, Overdue, Due, Done or Can't tell, its title and part.
  • Can't tell comes with the reason Plex could not be read, for example a data source Plex has not enabled for your site. When every check has the same reason, it is shown once at the top.

Checks are recorded in Plex, or on the Shop Floor checks screen on the web, as you do today. The phone shows what is due.

Tools due

Tools and dies whose preventive maintenance falls due. Choose 7 days, 14 days or 30 days. Each shows how many days until due, or how many days late in red, with its tool number, location and status. Tap one to look it up.

Tool lookup

Scan a tool or die to see where it is, its status and quantity, its recut limit and its note, from Plex. Scanning a die label (D- and text) on the Scan tab opens it here too.

Work orders and die changes

Completing work orders and recording die changeovers are done in Plex. From Die change you can scan a die to see where it is, and Work orders links to Request maintenance.
