Quality holds, release and scrap
Quality holds, release and scrap
Put a container on hold with a reason and a photo, release it with your PIN, or scrap it.
Open Quality from the Home tile, from the Inventory screen, or from a container on Look up. Scan the container. The card shows its part, quantity and status, in red when it is on hold.
Put a container on hold
Anyone working the floor can place a hold: Inventory, Shipping, Parcel and LTL, Materials, Directed work, Quality, Maintenance or Tools roles.
- Under Place a hold, pick a hold status. The choices are your company's Plex container statuses whose names contain hold, suspect or quarantine.
- Type the reason in Why? (up to 400 characters).
- Tap Take a photo. A photo is required when you have signal.
- Tap Put it on hold.
Plex sets the status and adds a note with your reason and your name. The photo is saved in DataMagik against the container, after the hold, so a slow upload never holds it up; the receipt shows photo saved or why it was not. With no signal the hold can go without its photo: No signal: the hold can go without its photo.
A container on hold cannot be split, merged, loaded to a workcenter, packed into a master unit, loaded onto a shipper or shipped until it is released. It can still be moved, for example to a quarantine area.
Release a hold
Releasing needs DataMagik Mobile - Release Quality Hold and your PIN. In the default roles, Quality Tech and Admin have it. Without it, a held container shows On hold. Quality releases it.
- Scan the held container.
- Under Release the hold, pick the status to release it to.
- Tap Release (PIN) and enter your PIN.
Plex sets the new status and notes who released it.
Scrap a container
Scrapping needs DataMagik Mobile - Scrap Container and your PIN. In the default roles, Quality Tech, Supervisor and Admin have it.
- Scan the container. It can be on hold or not.
- Under Scrap, type the reason in Why?.
- Optionally tap Photo (optional).
- Tap Scrap it (PIN) and enter your PIN.
Scrap cannot be undone. Plex retires the container with an inventory adjustment and a note with your reason and name. The receipt shows what was scrapped, for example Plex scrapped SJ008486 (was 12 of 2020-100).
Do releases and scrap with signal. DataMagik checks your PIN when you enter it, and again when the release or scrap arrives. A PIN is good for 5 minutes, so one that waits longer without signal is refused and you will need to do it again.

| {serial} is OK, not on hold, so there is nothing to release. | Plex already shows the container off hold. |
| Plex did not keep {serial} as {status} (it reads {other}). | Plex did not take the new status. Check the container in Plex or ask Quality. |
