Navigating DataMagik

Find your way around the workspace — the top navigation bar puts every DataMagik tool one click away.

When you sign in, DataMagik opens in a full-screen workspace with a navigation bar across the top. Everything you can do lives in that bar: the feature menus on the left, and quick-access icons on the right.

The feature menus

From left to right, the bar groups DataMagik's features into menus. Click a menu to open it.

MenuWhat you'll find
AssistantThe AI Assistant — ask questions about your data and build charts or files.
AutomationsBuild and manage no-code automations that connect Plex and your data sources.
Script EngineWrite and run JavaScript and SQL, manage credentials, and schedule scripts.
DocumentsDesign document templates, manage retention, and configure storage.
DashboardsBuild and view data dashboards.
ApplicationsOpen and build custom apps with the Application Designer.
ExtensionsBrowser and Plex extensions, lookup tables, and related tools.

Each menu expands to show its pages. For example, opening Documents reveals Document Designer, TTL Management, and Company Storage Settings:

Note: The menus you see depend on your permissions. Builders see the full set of building tools; Viewers see a read-only subset. See Getting Started for more on roles.

The toolbar icons

On the right side of the navigation bar are quick-access controls:

  • Company switcher — shows the company you're working in; click to change it. See Switching companies.
  • Approvals (envelope) — your approval inbox; a badge appears when a task is waiting for you.
  • Documentation (book) — opens this documentation without leaving the app.
  • Notifications (bell) — system and activity notifications.
  • Settings — your profile and account settings.
  • Logout — sign out of DataMagik.
