Apps and dashboards on the phone

Run your company's DataMagik apps and dashboards full screen, with the camera, NFC and haptics.

The Apps list

Open the Apps tab. It lists the App Designer apps, dashboards and Shop Floor boards your permissions allow, in your company's menu folders. Search with Search applications..., and pull down to refresh. A newly shared app may take a few moments to appear.

If it is empty, it says No applications available: ask your administrator to give you access to the apps you need.

Running an app

Tap an app or dashboard to open it full screen inside DataMagik, already signed in. The bar at the top has:

• the back arrow, which steps back one app if this app opened another, or returns to the list;
• the app's name;
• Back to menu, which closes every app you opened and returns to the list.

If you switch to another tab and come back to Apps, the app you were in is still open where you left it. Apps and dashboards need a connection. If one fails to load, tap Retry or Go Back.

What apps can do on the phone

• Scan with the camera: a scan button in the app opens the camera scanner.
• Read NFC tags: hold the tag near the phone. On an iPhone, hold it near the top of the phone when the system sheet asks.
• Beep and buzz on a scan.
• Open another DataMagik app and pass it information, then come back.

When your company opens its own app instead of a standard screen

Your company can set some standard phone screens, such as Move, Count, the pick list or a maintenance request, to open one of its own apps instead for certain people, parts or customers. You tap the screen as usual and the company's app opens. When you close it with Back to menu, you are back where you started. If the app cannot be reached quickly, the standard screen opens instead.

Without DataMagik Mobile

If your company does not have DataMagik Mobile, or your role has no Mobile permission, the app shows these tabs:

• Apps: as above.
• AI Chat: your company's AI assistants and AI chat automations. You can attach files for chat automations.
• Materials: the Shop Floor material pages (order, tasks, queue, requests and status), with a round Scan button that scans with the camera. It needs Shop Floor and a Shop Floor material role.
• Shop Floor: see Shop Floor on the phone.
• Settings.
